India’s own dialogue partnership with the ASEAN has now evolved into a strategic type of partnership with the Indian diaspora providing with a platform that shall strengthen up the ties with them, said Sushma Swaraj, the External Affairs Minister today.
While addressing at the Indian diaspora ASEAN India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Singapore, the External Affairs Minister of India, Ms. Swaraj reaffirmed the commitment India has towards the ASEAN.
Ms. Swaraj made a speech among three thousand delegates and said that she is here at Singapore to reaffirm the commitment which India has to the entire course of the journey with the ASEAN.
She also said that India’s diaspora shall be providing with a platform that can strengthen up the relationship between ASEAN countries and India.
By making a note upon the twenty-five-year milestone of India-ASEAN partnership, Ms. Swaraj said that the dialogue partnership which India was maintaining for years has now changed into a strategic type of partnership.
India’s engagement with this ASEAN region shall depend upon the clarity which they have in their own principles and the ones India tends to share with them. She also said that the nation shall feel secure and let the economics prosper by following up the international rules and norms that are provided based on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
As India is facing an enormous growth in terms of economy rate, the ties with the ASEAN shall be strengthened and the investment and trade shall flow in like never before.
She said that the states do play a vital role in advancing the economic growth of the country. She even highlighted Assam chief minister named Sarbananda Sonowal, who indeed made his presence at the meeting, for making the North East part of India to be known for its recent growth in terms of economy rate.
